Sunflower Oil Market Report – 25 November 2015

Some recovery in bean oil complex last night with basis getting weaker and flat price increase just over USD 5 for bean oil. Downing of Russian place by Turks kept the markets on edge, guessing what Mr Putin will do next. Some even starting thinking of a closed Bosphorus and issues with the maritime navigation. Well Russia is upset but then Turkey buys a lot of wheat from them and at first as a warning tourist will refrain going to Turkey from Russia and other parts of world. We hope that the tensions defuse and such actions are not repeated again by Turkey. US markets will function today fully and will take a long weekend for thanks giving day. Ukraine sunflower oil sellers have firmed up and asking USD 5 higher to yesterday with buyers looking to make swap trades for Dec with Jan. India saw some demand in domestic sunflower oil and also some volumes were fixed for AMJ (33k).
